Allison Cava, LMSW

This is an open and supportive space where you are welcome to be exactly who you are. Many people move through their days feeling unseen, unheard, or carrying more than they’re able to share. Therapy can be a place to pause, reflect, and explore your inner world with the support of someone offering a neutral, compassionate perspective — or simply a space to speak freely and be heard.

Hi, I’m Allison, a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

I am committed to supporting emerging adults and adults navigating depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, trauma, self-image concerns, and personal growth. I work with individuals who feel stuck in repetitive or unhelpful thought patterns, overwhelmed by ongoing stress, or searching for clarity in the midst of major life adjustments. I provide particular support for those facing systemic challenges or significant transitions, helping clients strengthen their emotional, physical, and relational well-being in ways that feel sustainable and grounded. I am also deeply interested in exploring questions of life purpose and meaning — understanding how insight and clarity can guide your decisions, relationships, and overall direction. With over 16 years of experience across diverse settings and populations, I bring a depth of perspective that allows me to meet people where they are. I often describe my work as “people service” — a genuine commitment to connecting with others in meaningful, human ways.

I’ve personally experienced the profound effects of mental health challenges, and I understand how difficult it can be to confront parts of yourself, explore emotions, and make sense of stress or overwhelming life circumstances. Maybe your mind returns to the same thoughts over and over, or even simple tasks feel impossible. My lived experience allows me to meet clients with empathy and authenticity as we work together toward building a safe, sustainable, and fulfilling life. My therapeutic approach is grounded in insight-oriented therapy, helping you connect past experiences with present emotional patterns, personal meaning, and your evolving sense of identity and purpose. I integrate supportive, systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to strengthen coping skills, understand relational dynamics, and shift unhelpful thought patterns, all within a humanistic framework that prioritizes safety, rapport, and trust. I also incorporate mindfulness practices such as breathing, meditation, reflection, and dream exploration to support grounding and self-awareness.Therapy with me is collaborative and flexible — whether you’re seeking structured, goal-focused work or a more open, exploratory space
